Avery Dennison Foundation to Endow Faculty Chair Position in Association with the SIES School of Packaging, Mumbai

US$125,000 Grant Establishes First Courses in Self-Adhesive Technology in India

Mumbai, August 6, 2008: The Avery Dennison Foundation is endowing a faculty chair position in association with the SIES School of Packaging, Mumbai that will enable students in India to enroll for the first time in specialized courses that include comprehensive industry-led advancements in innovation and self-adhesive technology.

The Avery Dennison Foundation will contribute approximately US$ 125,000 over a five-year period towards this initiative. As a part of the grant, courses in packaging, such as the Graduate Technology Course in Packaging & Packaging Management Programme and the Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging Science & Technology, will now include a detailed curriculum in self-adhesive technology.

SIES School of Packaging:

The SIES School of Packaging/ Packaging Technology centre (SIES-SOP/PTC) established under the umbrella of the SIES, has all its activities aimed towards testing & quality control, training & education, package design & development, data/ information dissemination, seminars/ conferences, and promotional activities besides market/ economic surveys, and techno economic feasibility projects - all in the field of packaging.
